Help
Placing orders in our web shop is swift and easy. Are you ordering for the first time, or uncertain how to proceed with your order? Please follow the instructions below.

Step 1: logging in or signing up (both for delivery and pickup orders)
If you have placed an order with Vrolijk.nu at an earlier occasion, please enter your login data (e-mail address and password).

Are you ordering for the first time? Please sign up as a new customer by filling out the registration form. In this way you don’t have to fill in your name and address again if you place another order. Please check carefully if all the fields have been filled in correctly before you continue.

The address you give here will be used as billing address and as the default delivery address for your order. Once you have registered, you can change the addresses for billing and delivery of your order if you wish.

Step 2: searching for the desired items

You can search for an item by typing the title, author, director, or a keyword into the search field (top right); in the future it will also be possible to search by ISBN. Below the search field is a link to the advanced search options. You can also browse for items by using the menu on the left of the page.

Have you found an item you would like to order? Click the ‘Add to cart’ button to put it into your shopping cart. If you wish to order more items, you can once more use any of the search methods described above to find them.

If you have to log out in between, the contents of your cart will be saved for your next visit.

 Have you finished ordering? Making changes to your shopping cart’s contents is easy. You can remove titles or change the number of copies if you wish. After that, please click the ‘Checkout’ button in the right corner below your list of items.
 
Step 3: delivery information

After you have finished ordering and checked your items list, you can indicate if you want to pick up your order at our bookshop in the Paleisstraat or want to have it delivered to the address of your choice.

- Delivery

The default option is set to ‘Delivery’. If you want your order delivered, we only charge flat-rate shipping costs of € 5.00 for the entire order (not per item) to be delivered within the Netherlands. For delivery to European addresses outside the Netherlands, the shipping costs per order (again, not per item) are € 6.50.

For addresses outside Europe, we charge the current rates for packages up to 10 kilgrammes. 

If your package weighs over 10 kilogrammes (the limit for the standard rate), we will contact you.

- Picking up your order at Vrolijk

You can save the shipping costs by picking up your order at our shop. Vrolijk offers you various ways of payment at the shop: cash, bank card, credit card (Master, Visa, or Maestro), Vrolijk gift voucher, book gift voucher, or Iris check voucher.

Fill in a comment if you wish, then click ‘Continue’.

Step 4: choosing a payment method
The first option is a bank transaction through iDeal. Please select your bank in the menu. The second option is a direct bank transfer; the third one is paying with your credit card.

On this page, you can also change the billing address if you wish.

 Step 5: order confirmation (both for delivery and for pickup orders) and checking the delivery address (for delivery orders)

Please check the delivery information, list of products, billing and payment information before you confirm your order. On this page you can change the delivery address if you wish. Then click the ‘Confirm’ button. You will be directed to the page for the payment method of your choice.

Step 6: checking the confirmation e-mail 
Once your order has been placed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail message within a few minutes.
