Since 1984, Gay & Lesbian bookstore Vrolijk is one of the biggest and bestknown gay/lesbian bookshops in Europe, with 2 floors
- The shop is located smack in the middle of Amsterdam, behind the Queen's Palace on Dam Square.

Vrolijk, Amsterdam: the lesbi-gay community bookstore Vrolijk stocks thousands of books + art DVDs, postcards + magazines.
We e-mail a digital newsletter every week, listing new GLBT books (novels + non-fiction), DVD films (join our mailing list: Vrolijks
Book- & DVD bulletin) and news announcement of events in the shop.
We order books that are not in stock and send it to you (There's an order form on
the site) - We also sell calendars, gadgets + some porn.
We print 'Vrolijk t-shirts' with the slogan "I Read so I am Sexy" [™]. And we organise signing
sessions in the shop. In short: we do and sell a lot, including delft blue STATUES 
Yet, Vrolijk is a non-profit emancipation foundation. To keep up a nice, professional quality shop like this takes a tremendous
effort. Nevertheless, we can boast of a very industrious staff (very kind boys
and girls) and board We'd love to offer
a bi-ligual site, but it's too much maintenance. So this page serves as a guided tour through Vrolijk's website. Handy: most
