The ZijAanZij mag Z|Z This = Us is the only nationwide magazine for lesbian and bisexual women in the Netherlands and since a few years they made the transition to a glossy magazine, written in the Dutch language.
Starting in 1992 the Zij aan Zij was a simple home printed folder with mainly contact ads, but quite quickly it grew into a magazine because of the demand within the lesbian and bisexual community in the Netherlands. Being a full glossy means 'Double the reading pleasure, double the fascinating topics, interesting interviews and reportage, beautiful photos...but one with an authentic character. Zij aan Zij does not conform, does not avoid confrontation.'
Their aim of the Dutch ZZ THIS=US magazine is to compete with all the other glossies that are currently for sale in the Netherlands and become one of the best lesbian and bisexual magazines world-wide (The fact that the Z/Z THIS IS US magazine is written in Dutch, and therefore is limited strongly by language, does not seem to deter them).
